Student Design Competition – 2026-27 Settles Bridge Elementary T-Shirt

It’s t-shirt design time at SBE! We would love to see our students create one of our official SBE Spirit t-shirts, and this year’s theme is Out of This World Learning! Use your imagination to show what learning looks like when it blasts off into space.

Some ideas to get you started: 

• What would our school look like in outer space?
• Would you and your classmates be astronauts or aliens?
• Is each planet a different subject? (Math, science, reading, social studies, art, music, etc.)
• What does it look like when your brain is blasting off with ideas?

The winning design will be featured on a 2026–2027 Settles Bridge Elementary t-shirt, highlighted on the SBE PTO website and on social media, and the student designer will receive a FREE t-shirt with their winning design on it!

How It Works

• Submit your design to the Design Drop Off Station on the SRO desk.
• Designs will first be reviewed by a committee of PTO members, staff, and parents to select 10 finalists.
• Next, our 5th grade students will choose the top 5 designs.
• The final winner will be selected by a vote from the entire student body.
• The winning design will be featured on a 2026-2027 Settles Bridge Elementary t-shirt, recognized on the SBE PTO website and social media, and the student designer will receive a free t-shirt with their design on it!

Design Guidelines

• Entry forms went home in the communication folder. Didn’t get one? Use this form!
• Designs may also be submitted on a single 8 ½ x 11 piece of paper. Include the student’s first and last name, grade, and homeroom teacher on the back of the paper
• Must include the words “Settles Bridge Elementary”
• Theme: Out Of This World Learning
• Design must be for the front of the shirt only
• Use bold, simple designs with clear outlines. These print best.
• Avoid the following topics: Politics, flags, copyrighted characters, or any content that may be negative or offensive
• Please also avoid references to race, religion, sex, gender, or other personal identity topics. Keep designs school-friendly and welcoming for everyone
• Student drawings only! Parents, please do not assist!

Eligibility/Entry

• Submissions must include the student’s first and last name, grade, and teacher.
• Only one design submission per student
• All designs must be original artwork
• By submitting an entry, the designer grants SBE PTO to use the design, to post it on their online sites, and to modify the design as necessary for printing

Designs will be judged on the following criteria:

• Originality
• Visibility – Is it eye catching and readable from a distance?
• Feasibility – Can it be reproduced cleanly on a t-shirt?

• Design submission deadline: Wednesday May 6, 2026
• Voting: May 11-13th
• Winner announced: May 15
