 | Dear Parents, I hope that everyone had a great first full week of school and that the transition back has gone smoothly for you and your family. I know my kids were excited to be back but they were tired by the end of the week.
The PTO is ready for a great year as we met several times over the summer to ensure our calendar was filled with activities for everyone and to encourage our SBE community to spend time as a family. We have several events coming up in August that I hope you will participate in: Spirit Night at TCBY and Culver's. See the PTO calendar for dates and times.
The PTO also spent time with our principal, Mrs. Von Esh, and discussed the needs of our school and how our fundraising efforts could help the future of SBE. This year we will be continuing to raise money for literacy programs. We would like to purchase support materials for a literacy program called ARC. We also plan to help renovate the Media Center with new technology and make it a space for collaboration and learning. If you have not already joined the PTO please consider joining to help fund these two projects this year and much more.
Our first general PTO meeting will be held during both Curriculum Nights, August 12th and 13th starting at 5:30. We will be presenting information about what the PTO did last year and what we plan to do this year. We will also be selling PTO memberships and spirit wear.  | | GENERAL PTO MEETING @ Curriculum Night AUGUST 12th (Grades 1,3,5) AND 13th (Grade K,2,4) both nights 5:30pm
The PTO will be holding a General Membership Meeting at both Curriculum Nights. Learn about the PTO's 2019-20 goals, the PTO's role and how we benefit our school. We will conduct a vote on the 2019-2020 budget.

 | | New Families Breakfast Tuesday, September 17 8:30-9:30 This breakfast will help parents to learn more about our school, address any concerns a newcomer may have, and provide insight for parents who may be experiencing a lot of "firsts".
The breakfast is geared for the parents of the new students; students will remain in class for instructional time. Younger than school-aged siblings may attend too. RSVP here. |

 | | ALL PRO DAD Friday, September 13, 6:50 AM Team up with other dads and their sons and daughters for a quick fun breakfast meeting! See you in the Settles Bridge Cafeteria! Meetings start promptly at 6:50 AM and end at 7:30 AM.
Each meeting expect a Light breakfast, Pride Exercise (Tell your child why you're proud of them), Character Building Topic, Discussion Time, Pro Tip (Take home activity), Prize Time (Team captain will raffle prizes for the group).

 | | FALL FLING Save the Date! Friday, September 20 5-8 PM Settles Bridge Families look forward to this fun event each year – and is one of our largest fundraisers. This event is held every fall and includes carnival type games, cake walk, and many other fun activities and entertainment.
Advance purchase tickets will be available online and forms sent home with your student the week of August 19th.

 | | Volunteers are needed to help out at various school and PTO events and activities throughout the year. Some volunteer opportunities occur during the school day, while others occur on the evenings or weekends. Some are in-school; some you can do the work at home. If you are interested in helping out, please fill out this volunteer interest form on our website and let us know your interests.
All volunteers are required to read the SBE Volunteer Handbook and watch the Mandated Reporter video. Please see the school website for further instructions |

 | | REQUIRED VOLUNTEER TRAINING Make sure to complete your volunteer training before coming in to volunteer. It's easy as 1-2-3! Training: https://www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/domain/4384 Three items must be completed: - You will need to watch a Mandated Reporter Video and submit the Google form at the end.
- You will also need to read the Volunteer Handbook and print out and sign the last page.
- Turn in the signed page and and provide to Gina Estes at the school.
